Had one of several daily specials, and it was good and very reasonable. In fact, I've never had a bad meal there. The storefront used to be one of two town pharmacies, and they've done their best to keep the small town soda fountain feel. Right now I'd go with the fried oysters, but their homemade soups and stews are also very good. And the burgers are good, too.

Love this atmosphere. The food was good and well-priced, the sides were not typical, and the desserts were worth their weight in gold. The waitresses were great and the food came out quickly. We are from out of town and this place was recommended. Glad we followed that advice!
Seafood was excellent. The Oysters and Crabcake were definitely some of the best we have ever had. Staff was very professional and courteous throughout our visit. We will definitely visit again.
Out favorite restaurant for crab cakes full of meat each time we visit Mathews! The menu is making all our family happy! Chicken sandwich is wonderful. Non homemade Ice creams are delicious and the prices are very reasonable for the quality offered. Staff is friendly and we appreciate the covid era distances between booths.
The ABSOLUTE BEST place to go for ice cream sundaes! It’s your hometown cafe with lovely staff and a lovely building! The ice cream sundaes are soooooo good!!! Definitely a MUST to stop at if you are passing through town! They have a lovely outdoor seating area facing Main Street and it is so pretty and nice!
