One of the most religious place for Muslim people. It is the biggest masjid of India near Chandni chowk.
Jama Masjid of Mathura was completed by Abd-un-Nabi, governor of Aurangzeb in 1662.The mosque of Abd-un-Nabi Khan, built 1662. Abd-un-NabI khan, the founder of the masjid was appointed as faujdar of Itawa by Aurungzeb, after some time he was transferred to Mathura. Here he remained from 1660 to 1668 till he met his death at Sahora, a village in Mahaban Pargana on the opposite side of Yamuna while engaged in quelling a popular uprising. The ground which Abd-un-Nabi Khan selected as the site of his mosque was, he purchased from some butchas and the remainder, he obtained from a family of Kazis, whose descendants still occupy what is called Kusk Mahalla, one of the very few quarters of the city that are known by a Persian name. The continued to be regarded as zamindars of the township till the time of Jats. When Saijid Bakir, their head quarreled with the local governor and made over all his rights to Chaubes, and others.

Jama Masjid was commissioned by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan which is considered to be one of the biggest mosques in Old Delhi. The floor of the mosque has been totally covered with white and black marbles that give the look of prayer mat as in Mohammedan culture. It is situated on one of the busiest streets of Old Delhi, Chawri Bazaar Road. The outer courtyard of this mosque can hold around 25,000 people at a time, which is rectangular in shape and measures 75 m by 66 m. This mosque was constructed with the efforts of more than 5,000 workers, over a period of 7 years in 1628. The cost incurred during that period was about 10 lakhs rupees. Photography is strictly banned inside the premises during the praying hours. .it is tourist place .the central government regulate it .and also the government of india earned money from tourist talking about local sighseeing its near red fourt .one temple .hotels .dhaba and so on . Here there are many hotels located because it tourists place .different countries people came here . It is very safe why it is built in 1656 ad it is safe till now
