Went during the illumination period around 12/2020.. they had the most fun and beautiful illuminations. Gets very busy during its peak time. I took the free shuttle bus to and from Matsue station so check the timings on their website.

Wow! The illuminations here are amazing! I really wanted to get to the garden before it got dark, but it just didn’t work out so... I guess I’ll have to go back! Going just for the illuminations was totally worth it. It was crowded, but not crazy crowded. We were still able to walk around comfortably and really look at everything we wanted to. The entrance fee was 1,000 per adult. They have a pretty large parking lot and parking was free. To get to the parking lot, follow the pin for the “Yuushien Flower Park garden center”. This pin actually takes you to the backside of the garden... on a tiny road.

It's a well kept traditional Japanese garden. If you like nature it's a great place take a stroll. There are a few shops nearby.

A really beautiful garden with some local competition sculptures displayed in various locations. The area near the entrance into the garden looks the best! They also have a tulip garden which also looks amazing around April.
