While the end product turned out livable the process was interesting. In the initial consultation, many details that I wanted were "forgotten". The painters that they used were horrible. You could see the brush strokes all over the house. They blamed it on the drywall. They had a second contractor come in two more times to re do the first guy's job but we still have cracks in repaired drywall as well as brush strokes still apparent on the ceilings and walls. Also, EQ decided not to pay the first contractor so they put a lien on our house. Our second issue is the flooring. Our floors now bow in the summer months and straighten out in the winter months. While I know this is somewhat common, I think that some precautions could have been taken prior to laying down the floor. Also the shoe molds have all popped off and nails are popping out of them so that's fun. I feel as though they over charged us for so many things like electrical ex: they charged us 100 to insert a 17 light. I would go with a different contractor for our next round of renovations.

We used EQ on our new home in Weddington. They were very responsive and reasonably priced. We had a small issue with the flooring and they did a great job in meeting with us and working to make us happy. I would use them again. Like any contractor it is important to fully understand scope of work as you go into the process. Alan and his team were prompt and professional. Overall good experience

Our experience with EQ Custom Builders was nothing short of amazing. We did a pretty extensive remodel on a house we just purchased. We took down walls and remodeled an outdated kitchen. We also scraped all our ceilings and repainted the entire house along with all new flooring through the house. We had just moved from New Jersey so we had no idea where to start in making product choices. Our project manager Matt was great and walked us through every aspect of the project and was as nice and patient as you can imagine. My family will absolutely be calling them on our next project and will be telling our friends to call them as well.
