This place is incredibly scenic. I highly recommend hiking down to the creek. It has lots of shale ledges, picturesque pools and little waterfalls. Great spot for photography. Also has a small primitive camping area.
During the day it is a great place for families. It is free camping if you can get a spot, but it's a local party place so come dusk it's a completely different atmosphere. Also trash and broken alcohol bottles are an issue. Also some of the drunks will approach you or your tent late at night. Don't get me wrong it's not always this way, more often than not you're experience will be pleasant without concern but please go prepared, in groups, and self defense tactics, because its better to be safe than sorry. I will say Allegheny forest on both sides is far worse. You dont hear about it as often, but when you do run in to those parties it's like being in a horror film. Sometimes paid camping is the safest bet, when it's free, it becomes home to partying, crime, and homeless.
Very nice hiking area with free camping. Needs more volunteer effort to pick up litter.
Great place to walk and enjoy peace. My only dislike is that I wish there was more to see there or do. Very beautiful picture opps. Though :)
