Building n facilities are amazing. Only bad thing was older lady with short hair kept hounding me about mask when I was in an empty table and the nearest people were well over 25ft away. Killed my experience..

McAllen library has something for everyone, for me it's cookbooks. Granted I've read just about every Michael Crichton book, as well as, John Grisham books the library carries. But, my favorite selections are the cookbooks, like the three books on appetizers I just checked out. I get inspiration from them, plus I get to try the food I learn about, and that the best part of this story.
The McAllen Public Library is an awesome place to visit. It has a good staff of people who are ready to help anyone with their needs and the resources they have there are endless. I proudly refer to the MPL as a \Learner's Paradise.\
Excellent customer service even during the pandemic. If knowledge is power, then librarians are superheroes! Smashing down walls of ignorance and opening portal of imagination! Kudos for a wonderfully-designed building and great staff! Curbside (drive-thru window). They wipe down all the items before and after use.
Very nice facility. Modern touches. My understanding is that it was converted from used retail space. Book selection is moderate, have a ways to go but they have plenty of space for that time. The fountain outside is a cool architectural design. The farmers market on the weekend is nice. The vendors don't linger, th hey close at 1300 but stall are packing up at 1230.
