We stayed at Erie McKean KOA in June 2020 and we have reservations for June 2021. The McKean KOA is a wonderful campground! We know we'll enjoy our stay again. The bathrooms are Always Very clean, the staff are all Very friendly and helpful and if you have kiddos there's a lot for them to do there. We especially love the catch and release pond! Be on the lookout for Big Mama, she's in there somewhere! Lol We HIGHLY RECOMMEND McKean Erie KOA!! We can't wait for our return visit!
Campsites are too close together. There is about 4 feet of grass between us and the next trailer. The spaces are so small that our open awning is practically touching the camper next to us. Their sewer hookup is right outside our door. Right next to a busy road with traffic noise. If you are looking for a nice, quiet, private secluded spot this IS NOT your campground.
Great place to stay!! Very clean campground, great price, friendly staff, great pool and play ground. Fun activities for the kids during the week and weekend. I have been here before and can't wait to come back again. Strongly recommend for anybody visiting the Lake Erie area with a camper, tent, or just want to stay in a cabin.
Nice campground and very peaceful in the evenings here to sit back and relax around the fire. The only thing I would change would be the checkout time. If you were to follow guidelines the you literally have to get up and rush around to eat breakfast and get out so no sightseeing or enjoying sometime at campground in a Sunday unless you pay extra. 11:00 is too early for checkout but everything else was very nice and enjoyable.
We had a great stay at Erie KOA! Bathrooms were clean and our cabin was great. We liked the dog enclosure near the back bathrooms, our dog could run around off leash there. It is a quick drive to Presque Isle state park. We also liked the ice cream social and pancake breakfast!
We have stayed at this KOA numerous times. Very nice facility. Grand kids love the park and the pool. We used it as a base to charter some fishing on Lake Erie.the staff is friendly and helpful. We will return many more times
July 2020. Pull-thru site 62 for just 1 night enroute from Elkhart, Indiana. 30 amp FHU. Campground was very clean, very pretty and well manicured grounds. Pull thru area we were in were on top of each other. Fine for one night (or more if you have kids.) Really enjoyed the pool after driving 6 hrs, very clean, well maintained, perfect temp. If they had adult only hours and or a hot tub we would rank a 4 instead of a 3 star. Fishing pond(catch and release) was big and nicely situated. Smaller sites up in back looked nice. Dog walk pen for off leash was tiny, maybe 12x12. We never need to use them anyway, our sog good on leash. No bigger rigs allowed (we are 32' trailer) in upper wooded areas. Office staffer was excellent, very friendly, ck in was easy. Online reservation very easy to use. We were there on a Monday evening in July, lots of kids. Super easy access to interstate highway but no noise from it. When going this route we would stay a night again.
