Really friendly barstaff, great selection of beers. Great to sit on the terrace watching people go past on their weight boards, canoes etc. Would suggest arriving early (around 19:00) if you want to sit outside as it did become very busy later.
Good and fun place to have a beer. The terrace is a perfect place to relax and watch the comings and goings in the canal.
Nicest cafe at the Vismarkt. Remote from the other cafes, very cosy and small terrace just above the Dijle river. Definitely a cafe to pass when you visit Mechelen.

Beerbar in 1920th style in the city center of mechelen, they have a good selection of botteld beer and other drinks. The interieur is art deco and well preserved. They have a terras at the river Dijle which is great in the summer, a relaxing space to chill read or have a conversation.
Very nice place for drinks, and one of the only in the area that is right on the canal. We sat on the back terrace right by the water, and it was lovely. Very large selection of beers
