I called this shelter to inquire about a dog that would be going up for adoption soon if the owners did not claim her and was absolutely shocked and disgusted by the answers I received. Firstly he told me that the people that found her had first dibs on her if they decided they still want her and she was not claimed. Why bother posting her if that's the case? Secondly he told me that if they didn't want her or didn't show up by 10 on Monday morning that they would loose their chance. If this ends up being the case he then went on to tell me that they had fifty people interested in her and what they would do is then raffle her off in a drawing to whoever shows up Monday at 10. This is so wrong and irresponsible. They don't care about the dog or who they send her home with. I was shocked to hear this and how uncaring his voice was about the whole thing. It was like it was an inconvenience even having to find a home for this poor baby. This is a living creature not a toy to be raffled off to just anyone. People complain all the time about buying pets from pet stores and breeders but our shelters are not much better especially when they make it impossible to adopt a dog or don't care about the dogs like this. They should be shut down.

I got a dog here a week ago. They were nice and their adoption application process is practically nonexistent. You don't have to jump through 1000 hoops just to end out being turned down for adopting a dog. My dog, Rusty, was owner surrendered and they gave us all the info on vaccines the previous owners had provided them. Can't ask for a better experience, they were even nice when I called to make sure we wouldn't do the 2 1/2 hour drive in vain.
We've adopted 3 dogs from here over the years and we know they do an amazing job with very few resources. Kitten Krazy and the Medina County SPCA are the designated cat shelters in Medina County. The only thing I wish is that they had a way to donate monthly online instead of me having to write checks or donate goods.
I was on my way to go pick up my doggie and when I got there they told me I had taken too long when I had only waited a day bcz we still needed to get some supplies for her and that they let d someone else take her snd while I was there I discover there was another person who came to get her earlier and they turned then down too! So I will not go to this place again.
Adopted a 2yr old female dog. Love her to bits. Turns out that the staff neglected to give us all the papers, and the attitude the woman who would only identify herself as \Warden\ was incredibly difficult, rude and talked to us like we were the morons for asking them to eissue the certificate.\ Her attitude of treating this like it was such a chore, and we were such an inconvenience, continuously cutting us off and huffing, even though they forgot to give us the certificate! They refused to fax anything to our vet, and now we have to drive all the way out there because of their mistake. Yes, we love our dog, and because of them is why we have her, but I have the worst impression of their customer service and how they deal with the people who are doing the adopting. It seems evident this \Warden\ lady should only be dealing with dogs.
