Starting in 1972, Jan Martens together with his wife Maria Dictus started the company in Meer. At that time Martens was specialized in glass for residential housing. In the 80’s Martens looked for a extra activity and went on to move to grinding. Between 1985 and 2000 Martens grew and expanded with 5000 square meters along with brand new grinding machines. Because of their growth and the demand for tempered glass, Martens invested in a tempering furnace in Bornem. The new millennium, Guy Martens took over the family business and managed to move the company to a brand new office with 10000 square meters in a industry park in Meer by 2001. In 2001 Martens made huge investments in automating the glass production which made the quality and fines even better. In 2005 Martens took over the screen printing activities of iGP and expanded the development. In 2013 Martens consists on almost 50 employees and starting its sales of glass on the online market.
