Nilambur- Shoranur line passing through the melattur railway station. You can see the nature of beauty. And mostly you can see the teak trees . Melattur is a small town, very less peoples using the melattur railway station. In front of the railway station there is a small parking area . I don't know the toilet is useful or not. If you are passing through in spring season, you can take beautiful image. And also you will get different feels in monsoon season. In photo section I upload some beautiful images pls go and check it. Scenic Beauty of Melattur Railway Station during this lockdown... It is one of the most beautiful railway line in Kerala which is located on the Shoranur - Nilambar Rail line .

The picture postcards will pale before the Melattur railway station on the quaint Shoranur-Nilambur route as it is now decked with resplendent gulmohar flowers. It is a treat for the eyes as the ubiquitous gulmohar flowers have spread out a red carpet on the platform and railway lines. The pictures of Melattur railway station with a reddish hue are currently viral on social media. Malappuram district collector Jafar Malik has also shared the striking snaps of the railway station on his official Facebook page. The gulmohar trees will be in full bloom in summer and they will shed flowers during the subsequent spring season. The sight of open spaces carpeted with these flaming red flowers is quite riveting.

A small railway station with one platform. There are no basic facilities available. No centralised ticketing system availble. The tickets are old style small brown card with impression which are nostalgic. The ambience is quite good , with long teak trees which resemble the nilambur teak garden. Quite a difference you will experience from the noisy and crowded city stations. An old school station with no cafeterias, no free wifi , just timepass with your fellow passengers. All passenger trains between nilambur and shornur has a halt here.

It's a moderate station with very limited facilities. Not even computerised ticketing started here. No restroom or toilets available. Only one platform.
