if you're getting sent here just be quiet and comply, itll be over eventually and staff wont yell at u if you behave lol overall not helpful, doesnt seem like the other kids were helped either, only got me acess to medication faster that ended up not working anymore after a bit :,)

I went to this place multiple times for about a week at a time. I was under 12 all times. This is a place most therapist refer children to in emergency’s without much thought cause they always have space available. Like many other comments you meet some interesting people and they’re were a couple good staff members. However this never helped me infact i Became worse each time after being discharged. It is more of a prison then a treatment center. There is no privacy or safety. I was beaten by and 18 year old as staff watched because they were much smaller then the girl. The place is disgusting it’s isn’t cleaned regularly and the patients aren’t aloud to clean. You don’t get very many phone calls and your family isn’t updated on your progress while you are there. I never went outside the many times I went. You saw the doctor once or twice while in there any they talked to you for less than 10 mins and prescribed you medication that often made things worse. You got to therapy 2 times during a week stay for about 30mins other than that you whiteness other children acting out and being put in holds or being sedated. Very traumatic. I was put in restraints by having 2 people laying on my arms and legs with a great amount of force. My pants were pulled down and I was given 2 shots one in each glute of Thorazine. In other words a horse tranquilizer. I was asleep for 2 days after while my older roommate looked after me and made sure I was still conscious. At the time it was normal for hospitals and I didn’t think much of it as a child but now that I’m older it seems inhuman. The staff weren’t as bad as other places but Not many cared I wouldn’t either. Overall the food wasn’t horrible you were aloud soda at dinner if you ate all of your food. It’s not a safe place I recommend finding some place else and do research before you take your therapist word on it.

My experience with Methodist Hospital has been excellent from referral to discharge. I have sent a number of patients there and have always heard positive things about their stay.

Honestly, it wasn't as bad as most of these people are making it out to be. The in-patient treatment, at least for me, was really just to prepare me for out-patient therapy and I feel as though it did that. Going there stabilized me enough to function outside of the facility without being a danger to myself. My favorite staff member or BI or whatever they're called was definitely Mr. Jordan! Wish I could find him online to show my friends the man who helped me feel safe and at ease in such a strange place. He's one of the only ones I remember, tbh, because he was just that awesome. Ms. T was really funny too, and her jokes helped wake us up and prepare us for the day. School was pretty easy and wayyyy less stressful than real school while also encouraging us to socialize and work on maintaining friendships and stuff. I made some really cool friends there, and we talk about what's going on in our personal lives as we all kind of needed to meet each other. We can understand and empathize with each other whereas you can't do that with some people. The first day or so is slightly stressful because you're kind of expected to follow what everyone else is doing for the schedule and figure out where and how everything works. I did have an anxiety attack because i didn't know the shower turned off by itself...that did happen. The bathroom curtain is short and it seems as though there isn't much privacy, but you can close the room door almost all the way so no one can see you at all. Feminine products will be on the hygiene cart in a container, and if they aren't there you can ask for some. If you need to do laundry, you can ask someone for what to do, as they helped me figure it out. There is detergent but it's in the cabinet in the room, so if you have to do your own laundry, that's where it is. They're little pods. That's all I can think of to prepare anyone going there for now, so I hope you guys stay healthy during this time, and strive to be the best you can be!!

So I’m speaking for 2014 it was wonderful so welcoming was once a here and not all the staff are the best but I’m reading some of these reviews and they are so dramatic some nurses are kinda rude mean and sly but as far as the BI’s go they were wonderful kept things entertainthe staff really enjoy there jobs I loved it I am now a senior at 16 with multiple scholarships so 2014 was an awesome year I know it’s 2020 now but juss saying my experience was great

This place was actually pretty nice. They need more staff like Mrs. Lois though, you could see how she truly cared and loved all of the patients. Her lessons were amazing. The food was also pretty good. The beds were a bit uncomfortable, but they worked. Most of the staff were nice, a few were just downright rude to the patients. But, overall this place helped a lot. Thanks.
