Visited to use the restaurant. The food was really good, but one of my company found a piece of plastic wrap in the food. After that they quickly provided services and tried their best to replace it to new dish. We couldn't have any more of it because we were so full(REALLY DELICIOUS), and they replaced the new food to free drinks. We were all very satisfied! We were a team of local and foreigners, and the local friend of mine that is a chief loved the dish very much. Highly recommended.

Long story short: go somewhere else. What we liked: Rooms were very well done Service was friendly One of the 'Nicest' / most expensive hotels in Bacalar What could be improved: Value [we paid about 275/night]. The rooms, were for sure up to this price point. However, the experience was not. Service overall was severely unstaffed, undertrained, and not to the standard that one would expect at this price point [e.g., they had 1 waiter for the dinning room, and roomservice for breakfast]. The meals consistently disappointed.

If I needed only one word to describe my experience in Mia, it would definitely be Perfection! Probably one of the best in Mexico, if not the best! We stayed for two nights, that unfortunately were rainy, but thanks to the great amenities in the room, and generally in the hotel, along with the amazing staff that is always there to help, the rain was the least of our concerns. Due to the fact that not many guests were staying during the time we were there, the whole experience felt boutique and special. We felt like every staff member already recognize us and was really there for us to fulfill anything that we wanted! The service at the Spa was also super!! Thank you Mia Bacalar, for once in a lifetime experience!

This is a quint hotel with many beautiful fine features. Our second floor room was well designed with sustainable elements and fine interior. However it also had shortcomings as some of the details such as sink counter and bath lighting are not well thought through. Some basics such as a soap dish or drinking water cups were missing. Though hotel staff were generally friendly and helpful the management was somewhat chaotic including unusual policies such as a charge for use of pools in the spa before 4pm. When we called to ask for directions to the hotel via text we never heard back from the staff. Our room was not made when we returned late in the afternoon and required a phone request. When our shower became inaccessible it took a many inquiries over two hours (while no attempt was being made to fix the problem)for a decision to move us for one night to a room with no cross ventilation and a bathroom stench. Though a compensation was suggested for the room’s poor quality and our inconvenience, it never materialized. The very large, odd and rarely used spa seemed wasteful though the massage therapist was rather skillful. Like customer service, the food quality was also mixed ranging from acceptable to mediocre.
