I completed my Open Water certification class last weekend and had a great time. I felt really lucky to have Tim Vortex as my instructor. He is fun and enthusiastic and has a world of knowledge (literally) around diving. I didn't pick up on some skills as quickly as the rest of my class and he was completely encouraging until I was successful. I was also lucky to have a small class size and fun group that made our open water dive days a great experience all around.

I highly recommend Lacie as an instructor! She has a great sense of humor and makes you feel very safe and capable in the water. In general the shop has a very laid back feel and they make you feel part of the community. Everything is very easy with Vortex .

I had a blast getting my PADI certification here. All the staff and instructors (John, Leo, Laura) are all very friendly and accommodating. They take their time and walks us through every step of the certification. I got really anxious with the last skills ocean dive and Laura was so patient and talked me through it and didn't get angry when it took me about 10 min to do this one thing. Thanks!

I needed some scuba gear and gave two local dive shops a call. One of the places I called was Vortex Dive Center. I called Vortex Dive Center second and inquired if they were having any deals on scuba equipment, and a guy who introduced himself as Dylan told me that he would be able to help me out. He was enthusiastic and friendly over the phone, and I just had a good feeling about this place.

I signed up for their two weekend Padi certification class and had a really great experience! I found a deal on groupon (one weekend) so I had to upgrade the voucher. Rental gear is included in the package deal along with two open water boat dives (great locations)

_ I came to Vortex Spearfishing Center to buy some personals for diving: wetsuit, snorkel, mask, fins and whatnot, but I ended up buying pretty much all the gears I need except for tank and weights after talking to Jimmy. The service is awesome x10, the staff is very knowledgeable and didn't push at all, and I saved a TON, no exaggeration!!
