I had two home births with Midwives Rising. I would definitely recommend them. I felt fully supported throughout my entire pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum. I am so glad I found them!

I wasn't to happy with them during my pregnancy and when I gave birth to my daughter. They mismeasured me, they said I was a 3 when I got to the hospital I was a 7. The hospital was 5 blocks away. I went to the hospital because I was pushing already and I didn't want to hurt my baby by pushing to early. I wanted to do a water birth and they knew this. No pool was set up or out, it felt like I inconvenienced them with my daughter's birth. I asked the midwives when they left the hospital they said after 2 hours. My daughter was born less then 30mins after arriving and the nurse went to go get them and they weren't there. During my pregnancy they got mad at me because I was a little swollen. They thought I was lying about my pee tests. Towards the end I hated going I didn't feel the love and I inconvenienced them ever time I went.
You cannot ask for a more caring, knowledgeable, attentive team then the women at Midwives Rising. I am pregnant with my fifth baby and am having my fourth home birth. These ladies have been amazing! They are a wealth of knowledge and love. They have provided me with all the tools I need to have the best pregnancy possible. Shell, Rachel, and Danielle always take their time to genuinely listen to any questions or concerns. You will not be disappointed with their care!
This was exactly what we missed with our first two children! We had such a terrible experience with our first born. Through it all my sister Danielle stood by us and helped us in every way possible. She was with us on our second child's birth in the hospital. She made it so much easier to comprehend what was going on. We decided to go with the Midwives Rising team on our Third birth at home. It was the most pleasant experience to be with friends and guided by my Sister and her Teacher at the time, Shell. I would recommend this Team and this experience to everyone! It was truly a blessing to have our Last child at home with these women and to be able to cook dinner and relax at the same time. There was so many things we were able to do at home. Things that made it a peaceful and delightful Birthing. My wife Creation was mesmerized at how understanding and knowledgeable these Women truly are and the A they brought with them. I could not say enough nice things about these ladies and I would highly recommend anyone , even if you are skeptical! Give them a call, it will change your life and the outcome of your birthing experience.
Shell Luttrell, the owner and head midwife at Midwives Rising birth center, is amazing! She was my midwife for my pregnancies and births of my 8 year old and 3 month old. I wouldn’t go to anyone else. The level of personalized, compassionate, all-encompassing prenatal care can not be beat! She has years and years of knowledge and experience, and is dedicated to the holistic well-being of mom and baby. I always felt safe and looked after, and confident during the actual birth (both times I birthed at home) that I was in the best hands. The birth center is beautiful and centrally located, also a great option if you want to birth there. Nothing but positive things to say about this place and person!
