Small airport but quite useful and fast. A bit far from Hiroshima city (45mins by bus), the limousine bus to Hiroshima Station costs around 10-11Euro. There is several restaurants and cafes.

It’s a good airport for domestic flights & some international flights to Asia. 3rd floor has stunning Foo chocolate factory- vegan cakes, ice-creams & high quality chocolate (made on premises) & healthy #madeinjapan teas. Plane viewing platform 100 yen to enter. Some eateries with views. Long term parking less than 1000 yen per 24 hours. Nearby gardens also beautiful especially at season changes. It’d be great to have train/rail connection to city, but limousine bus service regular & comfortable. Waiting/lounge areas could be improved to add comfort, style & traditional touches, but typical for small city airport.

While I was still worrying if the plane was going to land on hill tops, there emerged the edge of the runway that dawned on my wife and I the small Airport was above sea level. The Hiroshima immigration team worked smartly by first checking formal compliance in completing the entry forms, then the taking of biometrics by extended counter staff, before finally getting the approval at the usual immigration counters. Although we were at the end of the queue of a full load of passengers from the plane landed on January 11, 2018, we did not feel the wait was long and got our first good impression of Hiroshima!
