Shopped around quite a bit when getting ready to get my kitchen redone and get granite installed for the countertops. One thing that I was told by someone else that did it, was to stay away from Lowes and HD and go with someone that does it for a living. NES fit the bill and had a very nice piece of granite that I liked and will go well with my backsplash and cabinets. When they came out to do the templating, (can't remember his name) did an amazing job and was very thorough. He actually used wood to make a real template. I thought that they would just draw a sketch and take a lot of measurements. No, they made a full template of the eventual counter. He also identified a problem (cooktop that I bought was too big for the cabinets underneath) and would have been a huge problem later. Fortunately, this was identified early on and no harm was done. He also ensured that my new sink would fit and that the new faucet would work with were the hole would go (had to go through the hole in the sink made by the manufacturer) and that it wouldn't interfere with the wall. When it came to install, they made sure to put a 2x4 under one end since I added a dishwasher and needed the countertop in to see how big to make the frame. This ensured that the granite didn't snap from the weight and trust me, the stuff is heavy. They were very quick and careful on the day of the install (no scratches or damage to the new hardwoods) and did an amazing job with everything. I know where the seam is between the two pieces and can barely see it. They also took the time to polish a piece leftover from the sink cutout to use as a cutting board or trivet. Everyone throughout the process was very helpful and courteous. These guys are definitely recommended! You pay more here then Lowes or HD, but you definitely get what you pay for!
