You need to hike a bit to reach the top. It is such an amazing view at the top, worth the rocky climb! Once at the top, bay bridge and golden gate bridge are visible along with the pacific. Such a brilliant view

Mt. Tamalpais should be considered the number one destination in Marin County. It is one of the highest peaks in Marin County, about 2,500 foot high. The road in narrow and curvy, but it is worth to go. If the weather is good you can see Pacific Ocean, East Bay, North Bay, San Francisco, and Farallon Islands. There are 3 Summits: West, Middle and East. East is the best for view of SF. On top of the hill of the East Peak is the fire lookout station and this is where you need to be. Tamalpais was a home to the crookedest Railroad in the world in lenght of 8 miles. Restrooms and parking is available as well as many miles for hiking. If anyone decides to travel, I recomend to go straight to the top first. Lots of places to seat and have your home made lunch while enjoying with 360 degree view. Great place to breathe fresh air and do some walking exercises.

The hike up is moderate. The first part is steep but the wooden steps make it easier. It's a pretty short hike up to the top. The views are spectacular. You have have a great view of the Bay, the city, the coast, and the forest. Stayed for the sunset and it was amazing

Such a gorgeous place, 8 parking fee. Current COVID restrictions (as of Jan ‘21) has restrooms open but the visitors center and the gravity car barn temporarily closed. It’s still a stunning place to explore!

The most comprehensive view of the bay area. If you can time this hike for after a rain on a clear day, you can literally see as far as the eye can see. The hike is very short with a few small sets of stairs. If you only have time for one hike, do this. You will not be disappointed. Word of advise, if the fog is thick, maybe wait for another day!
