I live in walking distance and it's a regular walk. Frequented here since the 1960's. Not open often so check first. This is a lovely park and worth a visit.

Amazing talk about the March night time sky and the next flight to our moon.
Old fashioned observatory. Needs a bit of money spent on it - especially to get the papier mache dome repaired. Very friendly people working or involved there. Now Covid-closed. Look for the planets set out in the garden to get done idea of interplanetary distances. It's also a pleasant walk up from the cemetery or Balgay park, and very easy if you cross the bridge grin the cemetery. Worth a visit, even more so when it's open.
We were here for a private tour and planetarium show. We also got to look through the telescope at the stars. Our tour guide Stewart was great and very informative. We will definitely be back.
It was quite cloudy the evening we went but were gladly led up to the observatory where we saw the half moon through the telescope and was able to take a photo on my phone.
