Wow— probably the best massage of my life by Johanna this morning! Much needed after a stressful election week. I will definitely be back!

Having tried massage, chiropractic treatments, and more pillows and mattresses than I can count to help with my neck pain, some friends suggested acupuncture and offered up Milwaukee Urban Acupuncture as the place to try. I loved that I could book the appointment online, it's just so much more convenient for my work schedule to pop into a website between meetings and find a time that works for my calendar. Having the prices available on the site was also appreciated. The location was easy to find and I snagged parking right across the street, another bonus. Anne was very nice and thorough in both her forms and questions. As I wasn't actively experiencing any neck pain at the time of the appointment and never having had this treatment before, she recommended a general procedure that should also help with my lack of sleep. Her calm demeanor definitely put me at ease! I do wish the office area wasn't so cluttered with papers and random bags, it made me a tad skeptical of the firm's organizational skills and attention to detail, truth be told. While I am not afraid of needles, having sharp objects inserted into my body isn't high on my list of definitions of a good time, but the procedure was essentially painless and I was able to relax a bit while in the chair. Which brings me to my other quibble here: I was cold sitting in the chair with my pants rolled up to my knees and my shirt up to my elbows. Anne did bring me a blanket which helped a little, but not totally. She suggested I sit closer to a heater next time. While not untrue, it also wasn't particularly helpful. I think a better solution would be more heaters. All in all, I did sleep better that night and would definitely give it a try here again--but only if I can score a heater seat!

The atmosphere is calm and minimalist. Anne is kind and professional. Prices are really good for what you get.

MUA is a gem, one we're very fortunate to have here in Riverwest! This is the kind of healthcare (as opposed to \sick\ care) more of us should take advantage of, especially in this economy where adequate western healthcare (or, more often, any at all) is far from a given for many. I've been in for both acupuncture and massage. Anne and Johanna are amazing humans. I love that the business is committed to being part of the Riverwest community. The space itself is inspiring and relaxing, and a great place to duck into during the long Wisconsin winter that's around the corner. 10/10 would recommend to anyone.
