I came to The Pasta Tree hoping for a romantic evening on Valentine’s Day but my experience was nothing of the sort. To start off the ambiance immediately was a big turn off. My date and I were taken back to this narrow room through the kitchen with tiny tables packed together and an unnecessary amount of strings attached to balloons hanging from the ceiling that were in our faces the whole evening. If anyone got up to walk to the bathroom you were talking some balloons with you or brushing them into other peoples personal space as you walked past. Service was pretty horrendous. We didn’t get to even speak to our waiter until about 30 minutes in and when we did we weren’t even offered drinks so we just had a small glass of water the entire night which was filled maybe twice so we were thirsty. Other people were getting up to order drinks from the bar it was so bad. For an appetizer we both ordered a bowl of soup which tasted good but was nowhere near hot. It took over an hour to receive our entrees which were also cold and unfortunately did not end up tasting that great. After that all we wanted was our bill which took another 30 minutes to get. Our reservation was for 6:30 and we didn’t leave until after 9 at night. The evening was a huge waste of money and time. It truly felt like we on an episode of Kitchen Nightmares.

I could not be more disappointed with the Pasta Tree. I recently moved back to the area and have always had fond memories of the Pasta Tree. I hadn’t been here in probably five years and after my experience last night, I will not be going back. I placed my order over the phone and when I got to the restaurant to pay for my pick up order they gave me a total over 15 higher than what it should be. I asked to see a menu and they gave me their “new” menu (that the hostess was literally in the process of stapling). Apparently they decided to jack their prices up on several items versus their posted prices on their website and the prices I would have paid had I placed my order online. Instead of the asparagus being 9 it was now magically 12 and the same went for our tiramisu and several other items we had ordered. If that wasn’t bad enough, they had also tacked on a 6% “Covid” charge. When I asked about it, I was told it was to pay for hand sanitizer and face masks. Please. I completely understand that local restaurants are struggling during Covid, like many individuals and local stores. I wanted to support a local business but instead I feel like I was fully taken advantage of by them. So totally unprofessional of them and not a way to run a business. On top of that, the food is not even that great and DEFINITELY not worth the “new” prices they are charging. You can find a lot better food in Milwaukee for nearly 100.

I have had one of the best meals at the pasta tree that I have had in a long time in a restaurant. I worked in fine dining for 30 years and this was way more than what I expected. Our server, Kyle was awesome and very attentive. Couldn't have asked for a better dining experience!!!!!!

This place has really regressed over the years. The pasta pagliara was quite awful - tasting like the seafood went bad months ago, and the white wine fresh herb butter sauce tasted like day old pasta water. Shame, a darn shame. If there was one bright spot it was the pesto, which was average. Also it took around 2 hours to get our food. Cmon guys, gotta do better.

I love bringing a date here. I love the people. They are so warm and kind. Sometimes their children are there too who are delightful and intelligent. Not a sense of pretension, as I have experienced at the Italian grocer on Brady, which makes or breaks a restaurant for me. Thank you, Pasta Tree!

This was our first time dining at The Pasta Tree and we were thoroughly impressed! They have a fantastic wine selection, wonderful pasta options, and the best chocolate cake I have had in years. Also, our server Kyle was able to provide great insight into the best options on the menu. We will definitely be back!

So much yum! Went here with a friend that insisted we The Pasta Tree— boy was he right! We had Kyle as our server and he was a delight. Very humble and so knowledgeable about perfect flavor pairings. Also, you MUST have the chocolate cake! This place is a must and is worth every penny!
