What a little treasure in NE Minneapolis. This is a German bakery with the best brotchen this side of the motherland...crusty on the outside and pillow soft on the inside. The bakery excels at all the breads they make, including their lovely, chewy pretzels. While more limited in the types of cookies the bakery offers, they too are excellent. As an added bonus, the bakery is just across the street from the Holy Land Deli and grocery store...another treasure in NE Minneapolis.

Aki's was great! I've been meaning to make it here for quite some time now, and I'm so thankful now that I finally have! The fresh pretzels are so good, as well as any of their pastries. I had an apple filled roll (can't quite remember what it's called ), and by golly it was amazing. If you want to experience some good authentic German carby-ness, then there's no other place to stop besides Aki's!

Aki's serves delicious. European style fresh bread. The brochten are not to be missed. I had a sun-dried tomato sourdough which was fantastic. See you again soon!

Great bakery, they’re buns, pretzel sticks and 3 day sourdough bread can totally keep up with German bread which I am used to back home. Plus the price is very reasonable. I will definitely be back.

Fresh baked awesome bread! Get there early to get what you want. Our favorite breads are the white pan bread and Sicilian pan bread. Those toasted sesame seeds on top of the bread are so tasty. Aki packages chips made from his pretzels seasoned with garlic and salt. Under 5, they are a tasty treat by themselves or with hummus or cheese!
