I’m torn with what to write because it’s such a difficult time and position to be in. I attended a wedding recently and it was gorgeous, well decorated and clean. I was encouraged by the sign on the door requiring masks. That’s about where it ended. About 90% of the wedding guests took their masks off and stayed that way. I understand not wanting to upset paying guests, but we’re also in the middle of a pandemic and events like these are huge risks. I’m not sure what the solution is, but seeing that you read these reviews I hope you consider options. Again, I understand needing to remain open but I would hesitate to return here knowing the staff is being exposed to non masked individuals in large groups. For your own safety I hope you find answers (if you care, at least).

We recently held my bridal shower at Chapin's Banquets. All those who helped with the planning process have agreed that the best part of going with Chapin's for our formal event was the incredibly thorough and flexible help we received from their event coordinator, Madi. Madi went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and were informed about just about everything before we made a decision. One example was our menu selection, which we ended up customizing. She made recommendations that we ended up being very pleased with too! The food was delicious and a very good value, in our opinion. I was pleased to offer my guests the option to walk next door to the bar if they were interested in alcoholic beverages. The employees on the bar side are very friendly and accommodating as well. We will recommend our friends and family host their events at your venue in the future. Thank you again!
I was there this weekend for a surprise 40th, it is very spacious, clean, especially the bathrooms and the owner Scott is very friendly. I will be definitely throwing future parties there.
After a long and exhausting year on being the front lines fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, I was ecstatic to finally get engaged, and start searching for my venue. Several people highly recommended Chapin’s East. I was very eager to get some pricing, and set up a time to tour. Sad to say, that eagerness turned to disappointment quite quickly. No one wants to respond to any emails sent. Madi, responded to my last email on Wed after myself wanting to set up a time this Saturday. She asked if anytime before five worked for me? I responded asking if ten would work on Saturday; this was Wednesday. No response. Thursday, I sent another email asking if ten would be ok; no response. I sent an email last night, no response. I woke up this morning and figured that maybe something happened with the holiday and there would be a response; nope! My fiancée suggested that we just go there. Maybe our email was received and something came up, he said you never know. So, we showed up today at 10:02 am. There was a white SUV parked out front. We looked inside from the doorway, knocked. I called several times, no answer. We were there for a good fifteen minutes. My fiancée liked what he saw standing from the outside too. I cannot believe how unprofessional this was. As I read reviews on here further, I have seen it happen to someone else as well. I also read about good reviews about this place and how accommodating they have been on such short notice. I don’t know how because we certainly cannot get a hold of anyone!! A friend, after further investigating, came to the conclusion that a lot of the good reviews, come from people that are known to the venue whether it be directly or indirectly. So disappointed!

Long time customer of all of your properties, including having had our wedding rehearsal dinner at Chapin’s in Morris years ago. We went for lunch last week Friday and wow has the quality declined here. The onion rings were disgusting, dripping with grease and burnt, which is likely a result of old oil in the fryer. I asked for the burger to be cooked medium, it came out burnt and well done. The bartender who doubles as the server was not attentive at all and only apologized when I advised her of the situation. Sorry, Scott and Diane, I will not be back.
Don't let all the pickup trucks scare you away. Walk in and seat yourself the food is excellent. I had the brisket special which came with carrots and smash potatoes. We also had to try the chicken pot pie which was also good. Both meals came with a dinner salad. We eat for under 30 dollars. I would recommend eating here and next time I'm going to try the burger.
