The mission of INGO “Ponimanie” is to develop the world fit for children through our professional contribution and help children in difficult situations. Most important target groups of “Ponimanie” are children in residential institutions and shelters, abused and neglected children and children-at-risk. Activities and services provided by INGO “Ponimanie” are: summer camps, training seminars and workshops for children, professionals and families of local community around orphanages, multidisciplinary child protection team consulting and assessment, community based projects, Children’s Rights advocacy, publications, analysis and research. INGO “Ponimanie” is participant of several international researches, projects and events including United Nation’s Study of Violence against Children (2005-06) and National Study of Child Abuse and Neglect (UNICEF, 2007-08). INGO “Ponimanie” is ISPCAN National Partner in Belarus, member of Child Rights Information Network (CRIN) and National Child Rights Network, active participant of WWSF Coalition “November 19 – World Day of Prevention of Child Abuse”. INGO “Ponimanie” is initiator of creation of NGO Ethic Community in Belarus. INGO “Ponimanie” is first NGO in Belarus and one of firsts in CEE/NIS having adjusted long-term Strategy of the Development for 2008-2020. INGO “Ponimanie” has international awards of UNICEF, USAID, World Bank, and ISPCAN. INGO “Ponimanie” is Laureate of National Social Fair of 2005, 2006 and 2007, and it has several local awards.
