Seemed like a nice place, but as soon as He told me the total, I knew I was getting ripped off. I didn’t say anything, because I am not going to haggle, I just won’t return when a place treats me so unkindly. They charged me atleast 50% to more than 100% markup on strings. The one set I found for an average of 11.99 online with free shipping,they charged me 22.99, Thanks a lot! Everything else was at least 4, or 5 more expensive than what I found online. I understand some markup, every business has to make money, but that is more than 100% profit. He also said derogatory things about Leitze music, a family owned local business that I have supported since I was a kid, but they never ripped me off, or overcharged me for anything.

I drove an hour from home to see this store. I was driving to Destin from Panama City Beach earlier that week and was intrigued by the appearance of the store from the highway and could strangely tell that they had a selection of inventory worth seeing from a whole 200 years away, at least. I just stopped in to get some strings put on one of my guitar and was very impressed that their inventory was geared towards those who want quality instruments while the atmosphere welcomed and encouraged those of any skill level. I chatted with the staff for the entirety of my visit and was treated like a close friend the entire time. I’m not sure I’m remotely interested in being a patron of a different music company while living in Florida from now on. I couldn’t have been more impressed.

If you play violin or another stringed instrument, don't take it here for repairs! One of my students took their violin in to have the strings replaced and they put the strings in the wrong pegs and put the bridge on backwards (violinists will know how absurd that is). I'm at a loss for words as to how such a huge error would be allowed to leave the shop.
