A nice art installation, will go there again once it opens up, right now it is closed because of COVID!

Fabulous idea first conceived for the Setouchi Triennale: an old post office is now an art installation where people can send letters to friends or relatives that have died or those they no longer know where they are. Tinged with much sorrow but uplifting at the same time because it is such a great idea.

この郵便局の主旨に興味を少しでももったら、段取りしていくべきだと思います。自分は行って本当に良かった。ですが、一度でいいという感想です。漂流郵便局で手に取ったたくさんの郵便の中である2通のハガキの言葉が心に残りました。

いつ、どこで、だれに出すのも自由。そんな郵便局。 過去だろうと未来だろうと、もう話ができない人でもまだしたことがない人でも、なんでもいい。 2013年の瀬戸内国際芸術祭にて開局して以来、無料で開館及び運営がされているようです。 こちらにある手紙はすべて読むことができます。もちろん、自分自身が出すことも可能です。 希望に満ちたモノや、悲しさがいっぱいのモノ、たくさんの手紙があります。 じっくり時間をとって、たくさんの人の手紙をよんでみるのもたまにはいいかな、と思います。

第2第4土曜日だけ開いている郵便局。知っていたけど、なかなか日程が会わず、今回は、日曜日だけど来てみました！外からは見られたので、次回は是非、中で手紙も読んでみたいです。
