Small shrine, spent around 10mins to look around. found the handprints, em, wonder if demons share the same hand shape with us?

Very cute shrine in morioka near many other shrines and temples! It is easy to walk to and there is ample parking in nearby lots or shrines. Also, read the sign for some fun facts about the demon hand prints!

This is just a small shrine in a residential area, but worth a visit for history buffs and people interested in ancient legends. Next to the main hall stand three giant stones. They looked to me like an ancient grave where the dirt had washed away, but there's no capstone. A legend says that a god chained a demon to the stones, in which it left handprints. This is supposedly the origin of the prefecture name Iwate, which means 'stone hand'.
