The check engine light came on about a week ago for my 2009 Jeep Wrangler. This car runs like a champ, and besides some minor leaks and part replacements it hasn't needed much in the past few years. I go to Elizabethtown College and I needed a quick engine check test which since then I have found out that engine check tests are free at AutoZone. I did the ol' ignition key trick where you can bring up an engine error code...and no luck. No code came up! Anyway I dropped it off at Moats' for a quick check (39.99 tax) and figured it was a bad part somewhere. The lady from Moat's calls me back and tells me it's a bad 02 sensor and that it'll cost 200-250 to fix plus the engine check cost. So I told her I'd fix it myself, grab my car and pay the 42 and change for the engine check. Google says that's about 50-125 for the new sensor online...so yeah I told her in parting I was just trying to save a buck and do the work myself. I bought a 14 socket set part on Amazon to tighter the sensor...and a week later the check engine light goes off. Hopefully they would have told me the sensor WAS NOT faulty, and that it was just loose...but either way doing it myself I am now saving about 140 had they charged me 200 total. Take my advice, fix your cars yourself and have a trusted mechanic/friend do your engine checks. I won't be returning to Moats' Auto.
Mr Kervin Hoffer is the best! Always greeted with a smile and great service.
Brought my vehicle in for an oil change and recently a check engine issue. The mechanic diagnosed the problem quickly and the cost was very reasonable! I highly recommend Moats as they are very professional and honest.
My wife says that if she lived in the area, she'd never do (gasoline) business anywhere else. She was extremely pleased with the full service gas refill.
