A most lovely little fruit farm project, getting to grips with growing organically and tending to food from the earth. Participants in the project, Gran Canaria Lovers, donate toward the running of the rented space and in exchange have an opportunity to share in the produce, primarily Mangos, Mangas, Oranges, Mandarins, Avocados and the occasional exotic Guava, along with various garden vegetables. The goal is to become well versed in this type of growing, with a view to purchasing a permanant space to continue in the future and begin to improve the range and abundance of fresh, naturally grown fruits and vegetables, through the cooperative efforts of the project members. This is not a commercial enterprise, but it is an idyllic little community project tended to by a crazy family mixture of Finnish and Irish lunatics (including artist, writer, musician, photographer and philosopher, all of whom are keen cooks and animal advocates) - leading them to self describe their idyll as The Funny Farm. Just wonderful!
