Founded in 1947, AMB s.a. is a private Belgian company specialized in manufacturing machines for the medical and environmental fields. We have designed three patented devices (Ecosteryl 75, Ecosteryl 125 and Ecosteryl 250) which enable the treatment of contaminated medical waste without any polluted discharge, through a microwave technology. The Ecosteryl process consists in the shredding and gradual heating of medical waste up to a temperature of 100°C which is maintained for close to one hour. The system is designed to work in a continuous process and allows large capacities of treatment, i.e. up to 100 kg, 175 kg, or 300 kg per hour respectively. Ecosteryl can process any type of hospital and laboratory waste, solid and liquid medical waste, human and animal pathological waste, sharps and prickly, cultures and stocks, as well as any other waste listed in state regulations as medical waste. Once treated through the system, hazardous medical wastes fall into the same category as household rubbish, hereby cancelling out any risk of contamination.
