My favorite place from now - to leave our busy world and have some rest in silence to fulfill mental health and think about future plans. Very cozy, super friendly owner. Taverna is build just close to the rock and restaurant stay on the rock. and surrounding is excellent - stars at night in this area is unforgettable. It will be a something new in your travel experience :)

Zero customer attention! It was a rainy day with some showers and the sun was starting to show, the tables and chairs outside had a few drops of the last rain fall. When the order arrived the employee could see we were trying to remove the remaining water from the chairs but didn’t offer to clean it up or at least give us something to dry them. We had to seat on the stone ledge. Afterwards when we asked for the check, the only payment option was cash, and there was nowhere to see that information. So I asked for the nearest ATM (it was 5 km away each side) and offer to go there and come back to pay. With a very rude tone she demanded that I left something behind to make sure I would come back! If she didn’t trust me why should I trust her with something of my own???? One of was stayed while the other went to the ATM but it sure ruined the visit to Monsanto. With so many options around I’m sure I’ll never go back there. Nota posterior à resposta do proprietário: a resposta que deu só mostra mesmo a falta de orientação para o cliente e a má educação. A despesa podia ter sido de 100 ou de 2, não era o valor que estava em causa. O facto de estar numa aldeia que parou no tempo (e com o encanto que isso lhe dá) não quer dizer o comércio não evolua. Felizmente nestas coisas a lei da oferta e da procura prevalece, e quando a oferta não corresponde à procura tem duas alternativas, ou se adapta ou é ultrapassada por quem ofereça o que o cliente quer.
The terrace has an amazing view. It's a bit expensive, although the setting is nice. You can't pay by card, and the aldeia has no cash machine, which means you have to drive to the national road to get some cash. Staff is OK, but could be friendlier.

Nice little restaurant and bar. Tasted two cherry pastels and "licor da merda".
Beautiful place to stay! Unique, well-maintained accommodations. You will have to park some distance away and walk uphill to accommodation. Owner very friendly and helpful. The whole town shuts down by 20h30, so don't plan for a late supper. Highly recommended.
