This is an excellent wine shop which is the definitive place for reviewing and tasting the varieties of world-renowned Brunello red wine as well as other domestic Italian wines. The staff are knowledgeable, multilingual, and the prices are very fair for the select caliber of wines carried. The sampling service is 21st century xenon dispensary tracked by individual nfc chipped card, and all sample prices were waived when purchasing a 6 bottle case. Heavily discounted international shipping. The view overlooks the Brunello vineyards in the valley below. What a treat--this made my honeymoon!

We loved this wine ship six years ago when we were on vacation in Montalcino, and we still get to enjoy the wines from Enoteca di Piazza! They ship wines to the US and lots of them offer free shipping! A few times a year, we'll order a case or two. We will get back to Italy one of these days (damn you, Conoravirus!) but until then, we can pretend we're there from the comfort of our own home! Their customer service is perfetto! Grazie mille!!!

Avoid this place if you are not confident in your wines. Although there is a large variety of wines to choose from the modern vending machines, the staff seemed uninterested and almost curt to a point. There is another branch of Enoteca di Piazza just down the same street where the winekeeper is so much friendlier and has a genuine interest to help and share his knowledge of wines in this area.

Good selection of wines and had a large variety for tasting. They will waive the sample glass fee if you buy the wine. Prices in the shop are much better than those near the parking area or castle.

I do not recommend Enoteca Di Piazza. Recently, we spent two weeks in and around Tuscany on vacation. Our trip included visits to a number of wineries and wine shops in and around Montalcino, and we purchased several cases to be shipped back to the U.S. All of our experiences in Montalcino were excellent with the exception of Enoteca Di Piazza The staff is rude and pushy and their wines are over priced. Despite their elaborate wine serving machine, the wines tasted improperly stored and were in questionable condition. Good Brunello is expensive enough. You shouldn’t have to worry about jerks peddling questionable quality wines at inflated prices Bottom line. There are great wine stores in Montalcino with amazing selections, helpful staff, and great quality. Enoteca di Piazza is not one of those stores. Be warned and stay away!
