Warm hospitality. Cozy rooms in a house from Medieval time in village center. Delicious bread basket ( not home made) served at breakfast.

Feel ripped off, not worth it. For our last lunch of the holiday we wanted to have a special meal. We were charged 64 for two pastas, and 28 for an already opened bottle of wine... also the cheese was something you would buy at Lidl, so not very impressed. Never one to complain, but we had to go back and insist that the bill wasn’t right and sure enough we were charged for 4 pastas instead of 2 (which I wouldn’t have known because women’s menus have no prices... ). Also after the embarrassment of having to go back and query our bill, we were still short changed on our refund. Shame to leave such a beautiful place on a bitter note. The one star is for the chef getting up to cook just for us, thanks chef for the trouble
It is an amazing little B&B with a super nice owner beautiful rooms and hospitality taken to the next level.
We had a magnificent stay in an old romantic hotel. First of all the hostess Elra made it a holiday to remember. She organized visits to local wineries, not the large industrial ones, but small farms with excellent wine and delicius food. She took us out in her private car, and we had long walks back on small farm roads between the vines in Val d'Orica . The valley is on the World Heritage list, perhaps Il Palazzo should be on the same list? And we must also mention a great dinner in the restaurant! Tone&Sigbjørn
It is rare to feel so welcomed in a B & B and Elra our host did a mighty fine job. The B & B is one of the oldest palazzo's in Montalcino and has been in Elra's husbands family for centuries. It is not fancy nor modern but it is beautifully appointed and loaded with charm. Every piece of furniture, nook and cranny has a story and a place in history. Elra treated us to home-made cake at breakfast and tid bits of information that greatly enhanced our stay in the area. Thank you Elra for such a wonderful stay. We shall return!
