Dr. Schwartz helped to save my life from eating disorder. He is kind, patient, insightful, generous, and extremely knowledgeable. I would recommend him to anyone.

Do yourself a favor and google mark Schwartz and castlewood treatment center. I would never recommend anyone to be treated by dr. Mark Schwartz . I had the unfortunate experience of being treated by him when I was in my early 20’s. He is not allowed to practice in Missouri. That fact speaks for itself. It is a testament to the large amount of damage his career has inflicted on vulnerable people seeking help.

I sent a loved one for treatment, under the direct care of Mark Schwartz at the Castlewood Treatment Center. She went in with a relatively minor eating disorder and left 4 months later much worse. She developed false memories of abuse and believed that she had Dissociative Identity Disorder (AKA multiple personalities). Our experience is very similar to claims made in several malpractice lawsuits against Dr. Schwartz that eventually settled out of court, probably for large sums of cash, but because the plaintiffs are held to a gag order there is no way to know. If you are looking for help with an eating disorder, or any type of mental health therapy I suggest that you do some research. Dr. Schwartz is attempting to start over in Monterey, CA, but they have a long history behind them. Just google \The Most Dangerous Idea in Mental Health\ by Ed Cara, or \Could It be Satan\ by Deb Hipp, all the information you need to make a decision is out there, you just have to look.
