This is our in-laws favorite place to go so we join them when in town & are never disappointed. It’s located in the plaza of the Portola Hotel. The service is fast and friendly. We love the calamari and garlic fries. Last time we came they had cheesy skillet with dinner rolls as an appetizer that were AMAZING! We were so sad to see they are no longer on the menu. We got the bread boule instead but it wasn’t as good. It taste fine but the cheese is hard and dry and it’s difficult to pull apart and eat. BRING BACK the other appetizer!! Other than that we love the atmosphere.

Nice little bar inside the Portola hotel, moody ambiance with a fireplace and comfortable lounge area. Pretty good food, great drinks however than can get a little busy with all the conventions and groups that come in.

Great food, amazing service, great drink selection. For those trying to find it, it’s in the hotel lobby - maps make it a little bit difficult to find if it’s your first time here. 9/10

Good food is hard to find in Monterey. Don’t miss the fabulously addictive hand-made papusas at Jack’s Monterey in the Portola Hotel. Have the papusa on your first day in town and I promise you’ll be back each day for another.

From the moment you step in this restaurant they give you a great feeling. Very warm waiters, it is a kind restaurant to to go out with your friends or with your date. Great cuisine, professional chief cook and stuff, comfortable pay and attentive service. Highly recommended.
