I visited the museum while touring Monterey Bay area. The museum is small but we'll kept. Since I am a graduate of the Presidio of Monterey I found the history of the base to be interesting. I would recommend a short visit to anyone interested in the history of Monterey although a short visit with zero cost it is well worth the 30 minutes of your time.

Richard was a very informative docent. Clean and nice grounds and bathrooms. Interesting exhibits. Free! We donated a couple bucks.

Best place to visit in Monterey. Don't miss the Sloat monument and the old customs house and the great Native Californians collection of baskets and tools
Staff friendly and knowledgeable.
Extremely interesting. Even though it is very understaffed and doesn't receive enough support and budget, it definitely worth the visit
