My daughter has been to several schools in the Brandon area. Hands down MKU has been the best experience for our entire family. The school is very clean and the staff is wonderful. My daughter has changed so much and for the better. Her vocabulary has tripled, she is so independent, speaks Spanish and has grown into a compassionate amazing girl. You pay for what you get and you will not be disappointed. I think parents do not do their research on Montessori schools before enrolling and they have different expectations then what is delivered from the Montessori way. Children must learn self control and what behaviors are socially appropriate. You cannot expect this to come from only attending school. The Montessori way in my opinion is a lifestyle and it requires parents to be involved in their child's behavior and education. Parents play a crucial role in their child's development and have to stay engaged and hold their child accountable. Otherwise, you will be disappointed and blame your parenting failures on the school when in reality the problems start at home.

The facility is clean and the teachers are really nice, but after two months of having my son at MKU, we decided to go to another daycare center. The communication was almost non existent. I never knew what my 18 month old was doing as no papers would ever come home, no log of how he was eating/sleeping etc. and by the time I got there, the teachers were already gone, so none of the aids knew how his day was. They were unorganized in that when I would pick him up, his things were in 3 different rooms and I often had to search for them adding time to the end of my day when I just wanted to pick up my child and go home. All of that would have been okay for me to deal with since the teachers were very nice, and my son did seem to enjoy going there, but I decided to leave when he fell and hit his head, and I was not called, there was no incident report written, and no teacher could tell me what happened. I believe he probably just fell as most little kids do, but the lack of effort and communication was something I could not over look. The director was apologetic and helped to try to fix the situation after, but to me it was too late. All the teachers were so sweet and good to my child, but I think there needs to be more communication and organization.

My son is THRIVING! The best part of a Montessori education is the independence. They allow him to work on lessons that are above his age group in the multilevel classroom. The school also incorporates many forms of enrichment; Spanish, Art, Music, Zumba and Yoga. The teachers are innovative, patient and loving. I wish they offered classes for elementary school as well.

Best school in Brandon hands down no daycare comes close to this place it's not a daycare it's a actual school that children learn every day my child has been to about 10 different daycare in the Brandon area same story at all of them they give you the story of how they teach kids but they don't Montessori had helped my child with counting shapes colors and she is speaking in full clear sentences and has only been there a few months my only regret about this school is I wish I would have found it sooner

Extremely disappointed. They have to many Students not enough educators. The teacher my son did have raised her hand to him and was unable to pronounce English words. There is quick turn around with teachers as well as educators because they seems difficult to work with. Communication is horrible and they are extremely judgmental. If they want perfect children they shouldn't have entered the childcare field. They are unorganized and all over the place. Relived to be through with the school. It was an unfortunate experience.
