Bit of a steep climb to get up there so proper shoes are a must. Once up there it's a beautiful place to explore and have fun. The kids can run around within the grounds with relative safety and the views are spectacular. There's enough free parking for 4 cars at the bottom and a bin for the picnic rubbish. Lovely free day out for all the family.

Lovely walk from the car park through beautiful countryside up a steep hill to the castle, it's a good workout to get you breathing hard. The views from the top are fabulous, overlooking miles of countryside across the Severn into England. But much is left of the castle, but boards explain the history well.

Picturesque ruin in the care of CADW on a wooded hilltop with great views over the Severn valley. Small car park with space for about five cars opposite the track leading to the castle. Free entry to the castle.

A nice little castle on top of hill overlooking countryside. Castle ruins are worth a visit, but be prepared for a steep walk to get there. I wouldn't suggest wheel or pushchair friendly. Nice little stop over if in the area.

Came here whilst in the area, there is a very small car park at the bottom of the lane going up to the castle, approximately 4 spaces. There is a walk up a very steep hill to get to the castle so not suitable for people with disabilities. The view from the castle is stunning and the castle ruins are fascinating to look at and walk around. It was quiet on a Sunday afternoon with only one family there. Well worth the trek up if you have an interest in medieval castles.
