Amazing spring-fed lake, lots of hiking, kayaking, etc. Only complaint is that all the trees in the campground have been cut down (assume from beetle kill and safety issues), so no shade and you can see everyone. But camping spots are spaced out quite well. Bathrooms are clean (CX) and there is fresh drinking water available.

Camped there in July 2020. The campground was closed in 2017 to remove problem trees. Walked through it then and never realized that every tree was a problem, the campground is now clear cut. Enjoy the mountain views. Vault toilets were clean. Water supply is solar powered, don't expect water in the early morning. Hiking is great. Besides the 12 mile Snowy Crest loop, hike to the crest from the Ice Cave trail head and turn left on trail 493 (Crest trail) heading easterly and hike along the rim.
Beautiful place to camp, kayak, and fish. Expect a full campground on weekends as it is first come first serve. Access is a nicely paved NARROW road so use caution for oncoming vehicles when maneuvering corners.
Very quiet & peaceful. Removed some trees so you & yours can have camp fires safely without starting a forest fire. Remember what Smokey The Bear taught us; Only YOU Can Prevent Forest Fires!
This is a pleasing campground, in that it's lies in timbered country in surrounding \flat\ land. Access is good, although on a narrow road. The campground provides access to nearby features, hiking, and scenery in general.
