Listen to the reviews about the long adoption wait. I waited a month and a half for an animal whom I was told had no other family waiting for him (and visited regularly) and received an email that they'd chosen another family. I cannot agree more with the other review that said getting a pet here is harder than getting ice water in hell. Tldr; the people here have a very specific image of a family they personally believe will be best for the pet, if you catch my drift. They give a song and dance for everything.

I adopted my very first dog as a married woman from this Shelter. It was a very smooth, easy process to adopt. I went to walk her at the Shelter on the very first chance I could, after seeing her at a booth at Buggy Festival. I got a call the following day to say I could come pick her up. Adopting Daisy, having her in my life was the best move I ever made. Cynthia Shear

Ignore all good reviews, this place is absolutely awful. If I could leave no stars, I would. I can’t stress enough that anyone looking at adopting from this shelter should choose another place to find a pet. Unprofessional, unorganized, not good at communicating, and leaving multiple wonderful loving families extremely disappointed because of it. Never a clear answer on their actual adoption process. If they are this bad with running a shelter on the administrative side, I worry for the animals in their “care.” Please choose anywhere else.90

My family and I went there to look at dogs and fell in love with a puppy. Filled out the \Application\ and never heard back. However while we were waiting to fill out an application, I asked what the process was. That was 3 WEEKS ago. I was told \3 days\. I can honestly say that I am disappointed but not surprised. As one review stated, they have an idea of how they want a family to \look\ before they approve an adoption. Bottom line: If you aren't of a certain race or background, look elsewhere.

After losing our beloved 17 year old Yorkie, the family wasn't the same and our other dog was just as sad as we were. A series of encounters with people who'd adopted from the Moore Humane Society led us to the decision to pay the shelter a visit. From the minute we walked in, the staff and volunteers made us feel welcome. We were struck by the cleanliness of the facility and most importantly, by the obvious care given to the animals housed there. The shelter's manager, Shelly, let us spend as much time as we wanted meeting their adoptable pets and she really listened to our story. It wasn't long before we found the new addition to our family. Our hearts are full again!
