Nice time this weekend visiting park with my son and dog. Parking was limited and several sections of wooden walkway were in disrepair. My son and dog enjoyed the beach/creek. We even saw a herd of 10 or more deer. Great getaway in the heart of the city, will be back soon.

Is a great encounter with nature without living/driving out the city (in my case Midtown/Morningside area Atlanta). Is a very forestry site to go walking/hiking. It is beautiful and easy to walk and follow the path. It wasn't busy when I went around 7pm, most people I saw went with their dog(s) everyone had their dogs leashed. If you have a dog it's a great place for you to take them since there is a nice dog beach (see pictures) I rode my bicycle to go there, which very easy using google maps' cycling option that even chooses the most flat routes. I live close to Piedmont Park Monroe Dr. Gate, about 15 minutes ea. way to/from Morningside Nature Preserve. I left my bicycle in the bike rack located in the limited parking lot (if you drive there and no parking available, I guess you can park in the neighborhood side streets.

This was our first visit and it has such great potential. The path was very flooded due to recent weather. In general the path and bridges are not well maintained. But the dog beach is wonderful! And it is a natural oasis in the city.

Nice trail and couldn’t be more convenient being right in town. No garbage cans throughout. And people leave their dog poop bags scattered throughout. Not a great look, people. Cleanup after yourselves, it’s not hard!

Nice in town hike. You can easily forget that you’re in the city. Parking is a little tight if you get there after 9am other than that it’s great. Enjoy y’all!
