I found this a very interesting place to visit. The house is set in a large woodland mainly conifers and so it is a different vista to other places you visit. You can walk around the grounds and to hte garden with its views across the National Park. There is a scenic drive you can take through the grounds by the lake and you can park up to visit spots. I would like to revisit to see the house when it reopens after the pandemic.

Cragside is without doubt my favourite National Trust site in the country. It's simply stunning. Great for those that like gardens or the wilderness. The house is stunning inside and out yet warm and homely with the odd twist. Just love it, any season!
Always different. Best time to go is when rhododendrons are in their best- June. A lot of lovely walks, playgrounds, places to play hide and seek, fantastic spots for picking. You also can buy some food in the restaurant. Amazing house but not forget to visit formal gardens. You can walk or take mini bus.
Just the most amazing place. You will need a full day to view the house and gardens which are extensive. You can also do the six mile carriage drive in your own car.
Fantastic setting to spend the entire day. Endless amounts of trails to walk, dog friendly, magnificent fireplace in the main building which has to be seen to be believed and abundant parking spaces.
