Mortdale Maintenance Centre is an important and historic part of Sydney's rail history. It still serves as the largest stabling yard and crew depot on the Illawarra network. Known as the "Home of the Tangara", dozens of the Sydney Trains T-Sets are stabled here at night, until crew start preparing them for daily service. Mortdale Maintenance Centre is an integral part of the Sydney Trains network.
