I took my son here for an emergency appendectomy a few years ago. It was around early-dinner time when you would expect them to be slammed. He was very well taken care of, the communication between staff and myself was excellent. As I recall, we did have to wait for specialists to become available to run/interpret the results of tests but man his primary care physician in the ER was really awesome both at methodically determining what was going on as well as his bed-side manner and communication skills to help me understand what we were doing. We didn't get into surgery until around midnight or later and we didn't leave the ER until just before dawn but the entire way we were assured by the staff that we were in good hands -- and we could tell! The next day I was contacted with the option to pay my balance in full for a 50% discount -- I am lucky to have excellent insurance and because of that the amount I owed was feasible; I was grateful for the opportunity. I would not hesitate to take my loved ones here again. I was shocked to find this level of care in rural Tooele.

My daughter fell off her bunk bed and broke her arm. Since it was after hours, our only option was to take her to the emergency room. While they were friendly and made my daughter feel comfortable, they charged us more than 3,000 for some x-rays. Once we got the bill, they requested that we pay in full within about a week.

I wish I could give zero stars. Worst experience of my life. I cannot believe how rude the people here were to me. They sent me home and basically told me I was dramatic. So the next day I went to U of U hospital in SLC and was admitted for serious medical problems with my heart that they shouldn’t have missed. I hate that this is our only option out here in Tooele county for a hospital. Why did the doctors/nurses/etc Here even get a career in this field if you’re going to be so rude? Something very bad could have happened, it’s worth the drive going to a different hospital even if it’s and emergency.

I have visited Mountain West Medical Center's Emergency Department three times, twice for lab chemistries ordered by my Primary Care Physician, and a most recent visit for exams to determine causes of breathing issues that my Primary Care Physician was concerned about. The first time the ER Physician suggested I stay overnight for observation for a different issue. The ER, and Hospital staff treated me most excellently. The entire staff were extremely friendly and efficiently thorough. I don't believe I've ever had an Emergency Room, or Hospital visit more pleasant than my visits to this facility!! I believe if reasons for my visits to MWMC were for more serious issues, the care I would receive would be Top Notch, as I have already been given!
