It's awesome trekking point. Prabhalgad it's have nice points to look and good atmosphere. You must be start traking morning it's good to avoid afternoon sunray.
Challenging trek! It has descent trail path at first and rocky path at near end. Spreaded around 5 km wide, one end of the mountain takes you to mesmerizing view of Kalavantin durg and other to Kala Buruj. There were many food stalls enroute.
Excellent view but best idea is to avoid climbing during the rains It could be dangerous ️ To climb this fort rock-cut staircases have been made but there are neither ropes nor any railings on these stairs.... Meaning if a slight miss or foot slipped at the time of climbing the man falls directly into the ditch down 2300 feet.
Beautiful place and view aswell... Best place for people who loves trekking
Both Kalavantindurg and Prabalgad are an extension on Prabalmachi and hence the start point was same. The time taken to reach prabal machi is about 1 hour and the trek is easy. If one has not trekked to Prabalgad before then it is recommended to take a guide as the route is tricky and not well marked. Some previous trekkers have marked some of the stones on the route with arrows to denote the track and this did help us. But these marking are not that frequent, so there was quite a bit of the route that one had to follow basis his own judgment. This path has been forged by the flowing stream and it was one hell of a rocky ride and it is even more dangerious when coming down. Once you reach the top, there are lot of places to explore, but there is not fort structure as such. From one side of the prabalgad mountain you can see Kalavantin durg perfectly.
Great Place for trecking and there are also Tents available for stay.
If you stay in navi mumbai n you hav already visited karnala fort.. The next trekking spot should definately be prabhalgad fort.. Not a very difficult trek but yes it does hav some point where you feel that it is hard.. Once you overcome this, the result will definately make you happy and relaxed.. Prabhalgad fort is one of the fort in the panvel region that has a lot of historical significance..it is one of those places which is yet to be more popular in the coming future..do carry a bottle of water n snacks if required as it might be tiring for some..a small request to not litter or throw any waste on this nature's wonder.. Enjoy trekking and definately visit..
