We had a wonderful day at the Museum, from the Ancients to the Middle Ages We spent close to a full day here as part of our road trip around the hill towns of Italy. What a wonderful time we had in this very immense Museum that cover so many areas of interest from the Ancients to the Middles Ages. Here you will see the long ago generations their weapons of mass destruction, from swords to shields, to full body armor to newly invented gun. Wonderful Renaissance paintings, Egyptian pottery to ancient moneta (money coins). There are multiple floors to view items, with clean public restrooms. If in the area you should plan at least a half day’s experience. Simply so much to see.

Not really a history museum. More art and some relics. I'd say at least half of the works don't have English descriptions or even titles.
Ok to wonder through if you have the multi museum pass
Thorough museum considering the size of the country. None of it looked very exciting though and doesn't explain the history very clearly. However there are 4 floors of relics and paintings and some exhibitions (they had on lunar expeditions when we visited in November 2017). Was virtually empty when we were there even though lots of tourists were on the streets outside. Good value if using the TuttoSanMarino card and the five multi-museum pass (7.50 euros).
Of interest was the equivalent mother and child worship in ancient Egypt. Madonna and Child.
The info in the folder said this was a museum of archeology AND history (of San Marino), and it lacked the latter completely. Very sparse info in any language but Italian, and NO info on the history of San Marino. No info on in which order to walk through the exhibition, stretching over several floors, both up and down from the entrance. Completely uninterested personnel minding their own business (reading magazines or speaking on the phone). I do not recommend choosing this museum when vising San Marino.

Fabulous! Multiple levels! Need more information in English. The artefacts are amazing! I’ve been to museums all over the world however this has some really unique pieces!
