The food was absolutely delicious, especially the flan, which I don't normally like that much. The fish tacos were great...they came out piping hit and quite tasty. And the ambiance is tranquil and charming. Sit in the back patio...it's lovely and tucked away from the street noise. Miguel, our server, was friendly, funny, and attentive. We really enjoyed it! Prices are comparable to other restaurants, but Coyote Maya was a gem.

The atmosphere was warm, charming and relaxing. The live music was also a nice accompaniment to our meal. Miguel was friendly and did an amazing job assisting my sister and I with ordering in Spanish and accommodating our special requests. The our main dishes were superb. The flan and pan de elote was phenomenal! I would highly recommend this restaurant!

Unbelievable food. Its really amazing. The staff is wonderful too. Its cheaper than most places in the area. I only review places that are awful or amazing. The food really was awesome.

Outstanding! ...Just returned from an excellent 9 day stay in Merida, in a wonderful Home Exchange home....:) When I return, I'm going back to Coyote Maya. .:):) There are many great restaurants in Merida, but on my list of \definitely go at least once\ (we went twice and almost went back a 3rd time for breakfast, and we were staying 20 minutes away) is Coyote Maya in the Centro section of Merida, near Plaza Santa Lucia. Thank you Carlos ( Carlos Torres, owner) for an excellent evening! Your 7 years of experience throughout New York are so evident in your lovely restaurant in Merida. We'll be back for certain. Your warm, sincere, knowledgeable service is a cut above the rest. We enjoyed the live music and great food. Carlos, you understand the concept of \everyone helps the customer and makes their dinner nicer\ and it's evident. I mentioned that I live in NJ, and have traveled extensively (Rome, Paris, Buenos Aires, Cartagena, all Caribbean, Spain, Mexico, etc). I love food. Sometimes it's great and sometimes it's bad, but usually it's just ok. Carlos, you and Coyote Maya deliver a truly wonderful evening - thanks. We wish you Bueno Fortuna and always Good Health!
