Absolutely loved camping at McDonald Creek. It was our first time here and exceeded our expectations. Would have stayed longer if we could have. If you’re looking for a relaxing and peaceful place this is it. Everything was really clean, well kept and sites were gorgeous. We were lucky to get one of the sites along the water for one of our nights there. If you’re going during non peak times where you can’t reserve sites try to get there early if you want a spot by the water. We noticed a lot of the RVs left at around 8-10..well before check out at 11. This will ensure you get one of the spots with lake views. Park operators were incredibly helpful, accommodating and friendly. Can’t wait to go back next summer.

An excellent Park. Bring a boat or kayak and your mountain bike. Hard to get a spot you must make a reservation in advance for this place. Very well kept and maintained by the park rangers a little on the pricey side as far as camping goes but you get what you pay for. Beautiful old-growth Forest when you follow the trail watch out for the old loggers Cabin in the Woods. Too far from Hot Springs only negative.

Great park for camping! The sites are spread along the lake so that most of the sites are along the water within a very short walk of the beach. The beach itself is very long and sandy and is pleasant to spend time on. The park has a new shower building and an excellent day park with a modern playground and many benches. You'll certainly enjoy your time at the park!

One of the be as t provincial parks I've been too. Minimal shower/flush toilet service but incredible views and privacy on your camp ground. Will definitely be going back again!

This park is easy to find just off Hwy 6 south of Nakusp, BC. Entrance roads and campground roads are paved. There are a few electric sites and lots of sites without services. The park is laid out along the lake shore. There is a new shower/toilet building near the entrance. The beach is close to the campground with lots of sand and a modern adventure playground. There is a boat launch with a dog off leash area but the off leash area was flooded when we visited. The sandy beach extends down the lake along the campground with multiple beach trails available. Most of the beach is sandy with some shade and good wading and swimming. Dogs are allowed on the beach along the campground area but not near the playground or main beach. The electric sites have little shade, no privacy and are very close together. Unserviced sites are much larger and have better privacy and shade. Good destination park to spend a vacation. Drinking water, showers, and sani-dump all at the park.
