I highly recommend FDL NAMI. They were so welcoming and helpful when we couldn't find any resources for our child. We took family to family ,a class I highly recommend to anyone with a friend or family member with mental illness. The class was so informative and teachers were amazing.

Our family attended a few peer group sessions here because my wife has been going through a lot of issues and this organization was recommended to us and she came back more depressed but she started acting even more strange since going there. NAMI is meant to be a nonprofit organization but they only seem concerned about money and status. If you do a bit more research about NAMI Fond du Lac and the board members behind it you will realize it is a very questionable organization. A quick search will reveal that majority of their operating funds come from pharmaceutical companies who sells drugs for mental health patients where some have had side effects causing suicides. When I looked up their board members to see who is behind this questionable organization I was shocked at what I found. They also ran a raffle draw where two cash prizes was won by a board member as published by them online this is very questionable given that donor funds are being pocketed by board members. If you dig deeper about every person behind this local NAMI organization you would not want your loved ones to be anywhere near them if they are having issues to begin with. From interacting with the rest of the staff and team behind this operation they clearly lack qualifications in the area of mental health. I visited with my wife a few times and this is really not a legitimate non-profit and the activities they schedule do more harm to a person's wellbeing than good. I can only urge anyone who is considering donating funds or attending their sessions to do more research first and decide for yourself but we don't recommend any of their support groups or peer groups.
