( HKB 5./976 Maerranes) HBK is a german abbreviation of "Heeresküsten-Batterien". HKB 5./976 was a small active coastal battery during World War 2. In this area it was placed four 10,5cm cannons, but the 6.January 1941, two cannons was moved over to Selnes. Good view of the fjord to Hoddöya and to Otteröya for coastal defense. The bunkers and the concrete sites is still visible today. "HKB-5/976 Maerranes" is one of nine different sections of the "Artilleriegruppe Namsos" where Hauptmann Benzel was the CO and had the HQ in Namsos Cannons: K331(f) guns, total range was 11km.
